Ukraine’s State Emergency Service rescued about 6,000 people in 2018 - Chechotkin

Rescue teams of the State Emergency Service saved about 6,000 people in 2018.

Head of the State Emergency Service Mykola Chechotkin stated this when reporting on the results of the State Emergency Service work in 2018.

"The main achievement of the State Emergency Service in 2018 is the rescue of about 6,000 people. Rescue teams managed to reduce the number of emergency situations. And the fatality rate in emergencies decreased by 2%, and the number of those injured in emergencies decreased by 53%,” said Chechotkin.

He noticed that units of the State Emergency Service daily respond to about 1,500 fire calls.
