Avalanche risk remains in Ukrainian Carpathians

On January 8-9, significant avalanche danger is expected in the mountainous areas of Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports.
“According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center's forecasts, on January 8-9, considerable (III) level of avalanche risk is expected in the mountainous areas of Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions due to snow falls and blizzards,” reads the report.
