EHF President Brihault: Ukraine may host European Women's Handball Championship in 2018
. Ukraine has every chance of staging the European Women's Handball Championship in 2018 after it successfully hosted the EURO 2012 European Football Championship.
President of the European Handball Federation (EHF) Jean Brihault announced this at a meeting with Head of the State Service for Youth and Sports of Ukraine Ravil Safiullin in Kyiv on Friday, the service's press office reported.
"I am confident that after the successful holding of EURO 2012, Ukraine can also organize the 2018 European handball championship at the highest level," Brihault said.
Safiullin, in turn, noted that the proposal to host the European handball championship in Ukraine was relevant, because Ukraine would stage the European basketball championship in 2015.
"Six new facilities were built to host EuroBasket, and they can also be used to organize handball matches," Safiullin said.
