War update: AFU repelled 70 enemy attacks in four directions

Russian troops continue focusing efforts on conducting offensive actions in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions.

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Over the past day, the enemy has launched five missile strikes and 16 air strikes, and opened fire with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) 39 times. Additionally, Russian invaders used six Shahed-136 suicide drones, but they were shot down by the Ukrainian military.

On March 31, 2023, Russia again attacked civilian objects, having fired ballistic missiles.

The threat of Russian missile and air strikes is persisting all over Ukraine.

In the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s Air Force has launched 10 strikes on enemy clusters. Ukrainian missile and artillery units hit nine enemy personnel, ammunition and military equipment clusters, one fuel depot, two air defense missile systems, and one artillery unit in firing position, as well as one Russian electronic warfare system.

In the Volyn, Polissia, SIverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the situation remained rather unchanged.

The Belarusian political leadership continues to support Russian armed aggression, providing the country’s airspace and territory to the enemy. Russian military units are undergoing training within Belarusian training grounds.

Meanwhile, no enemy offensive groupings were detected. Russian troops continue maintaining presence within the border areas of the Kursk and Belgorod regions.

Over the past day, Russian invaders have opened fire on the Chernihiv region’s Baranivka; the Sumy region’s Katerynivka, Sosnivka, Starykove, Volfyne, Kindrativka, Novomykolaivka, Myropillia, Popivka and Oleksandrivka; and the Kharkiv region’s Veterynarne, Hoptivka, Strilecha, Hlyboke, Neskuchne, Bochkove and Budarky.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian occupiers shelled the settlements situated close to the contact line, such as the Kharkiv region’s Kamianka, Fyholivka, Masiutivka, Synkivka, Krokhmalne; and the Luhansk region’s Novoselivske.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops were conducting unsuccessful offensive actions near Makiivka, Kreminna, Chervonopopivka, Dibrova, Bilohorivka, and the Serebrianske forestry. The enemy launched artillery strikes on the Luhansk region’s Nevske, Chervonopopivka, Dibrova and Bilohorivka; and the Donetsk region’s Spirne.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian invaders continue storming the city of Bakhmut, trying to establish full control there. Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy attacks near Bohdanivka and Ivanivske.

In the Avdiivka and Marinka directions, Russian occupiers were conducting offensive actions near the Donetsk region’s Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske and Marinka, but had no success. Ukrainian defenders repelled about 20 enemy attacks near Marinka.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian invaders were actively using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to adjust artillery fire. The enemy opened fire on the Donetsk region’s Vodiane, Vuhledar, Velyka Novosilka, Krasnohorivka and Novosilka.

In the Zaporizhzhia an Kherson directions, Russian troops were not taking active actions but improving defensive lines and positions. The enemy shelled the Donetsk region’s Vremivka and Novosilka; the Zaporizhzhia region’s Olhivske, Huliaipole, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanyivka, Orikhiv, Mali Shcherbaky and Stepnpohirsk; and the city of Kherson.

In the Luhansk region’s Troitske district, Russian occupiers intensified countersabotage measures after their personnel and military equipment clusters were effectively hit. Local residents are being checked, and mobile connection was cut off in certain settlements.

Russian invaders continue using civil infrastructure and personal property for their benefit. In certain settlements in the Luhansk region’s Shchastia district, civilians were driven out of their homes in order to accommodate Russian occupation troops.
