Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil assets hit four-month high – Bloomberg

At least 21 Ukrainian attacks targeted Russian oil refineries, maritime facilities – including export terminals – and pipeline infrastructure in April, based on public statements from both sides.

The data show that at least nine strikes were carried out on Russia’s oil-processing industry in April – the highest monthly figure since the start of the year.

According to estimates by OilX, this has reduced Russia’s average refinery throughput to 4.69 million barrels per day – the lowest level since December 2009.

The drop in crude processing rates is increasing pressure on Russia both domestically – where seasonal demand is rising – and on global oil product markets.

This month, Ukraine returned to its strategy of repeated strikes on specific Russian refineries, an approach that maximizes damage and hinders rapid repairs.

According to Bloomberg, Ukraine has also intensified attacks on Russia’s oil pipeline network, striking at least five pumping stations in April.

As reported earlier, the SSU Special Operations Center Alpha struck the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez refinery located more than 1,500 km from Ukraine’s border.
