As a result of fresh Russian attacks, power outages were reported as of the morning of December 24 in the Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions.

Ukraine's grid operator Ukrenergo said this in a post on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"Overnight, the enemy attacked energy facilities in several regions. As a result, by morning there are new power outages in the Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions. Repair crews from regional energy companies are working to restore damaged equipment as quickly as possible," the statement said.

Due to yesterday's and previous large-scale missile and drone attacks on the energy system, electricity consumption restrictions are being applied throughout the entire day in all regions of Ukraine. These include limitation schedules for industry and businesses, as well as hourly power outages for all categories of consumers.

Electricity consumption remains high. As of 08:00 on December 24, consumption levels were the same as at that time on the previous working day, Tuesday.

On December 23, the daily peak in electricity consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 2.4% lower than the peak on the previous day, Monday, December 22. The change was due to the application of more extensive consumption restrictions following a massive missile and drone attack.

All regions of Ukraine are urged to use electricity sparingly.

"Please limit the use of high-power electrical appliances as much as possible. If possible, shift energy-intensive activities to nighttime hours, after 23:00," the company said.

On Wednesday, December 24, hourly power outage schedules will be in effect for household consumers across all regions of Ukraine, while industrial consumers will face power limitations.
