At today's meeting of the EU Council in Luxembourg, EU agriculture ministers will discuss ways to increase Ukrainian exports.

Denmark's Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Jacob Jensen, stated this before the beginning of the meeting.

"Now we have had the negotiations with Ukraine on trade and we will also continue discussing trade in general. We will from the Danish presidency try to focus on how we can also help the Ukrainians in order to increase their trade with the EU and also therefore support their economy," Jensen said.

He added that Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Taras Kachka, will take part in the discussion.

The meeting will also address the new "green architecture," specifically how EU climate preservation rules can motivate farmers to transition to more sustainable production.

Another key topic will be "generational renewal," a campaign to effectively attract young people to the EU's agricultural sector.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, this month Ukraine and the EU lifted some tariffs and increased export quotas for agricultural products to the European Union.
