IMF provided Ukraine with over $12.4B since full-scale war began – PM Shmyhal
The Ukrainian Prime Minister wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
“This week, the IMF mission will start its work on the seventh review of the joint EFF program. We discussed further cooperation with the Director of the Fund's European Department, Alfred Kammer. I thanked him for the IMF’s work on six reviews, which enabled us to secure $9.8 billion for Ukraine. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, the International Monetary Fund has provided Ukraine with more than $12.4 billion,” Shmyhal said.
He stressed that cooperation with the Fund is an important factor in Ukraine's financial stability.
“The government is carrying out systematic work in this direction. In 2025, it is planned to attract $2.7 billion from the IMF,” Shmyhal said, adding that despite the full-scale war, the government continues to implement necessary reforms.
The Ukrainian Prime Minister thanked for the significant support and expressed hope for continued stable and close cooperation with the IMF.
As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine's Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva discussed preparations for the seventh review of the EFF program. The IMF mission is expected to begin its work in the coming days.
