Britain will provide expert support in rebuilding Ukraine

"Among the specific agreements is a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry, the Recovery Agency, the UK’s Infrastructure and Projects Authority, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. British partners will provide their expert support in the process of rebuilding Ukraine," Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction – Minister of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure Development Oleksandr Kubrakov posted on Facebook following the meeting of the Ukraine–UK working group on infrastructure.

In addition, the meeting participants discussed the participation of British partners in the reconstruction of Kyiv region and Kharkiv, the restoration of transport, social, and critical infrastructure.

The reconstruction of six bridges in Kyiv region, financed by the Export Credits Guarantee Department of the British Government, is also among the considered projects.

"A separate aspect of negotiations is risk insurance. Britain has a huge experience in the field of insurance, and it is important for us to apply it in Ukraine now," the Deputy Prime Minister added.

Among other things, the Ukrainian delegation met with representatives of British business. In particular, participation in strengthening the energy security of communities, namely, the development of cogeneration projects and joint work on the modernization of centralized heat supply systems was discussed with representatives of the Tetra Tech UK company. At the meeting with representatives of Zaha Hadid Architects and Bechtel Corporation, the implementation of joint infrastructure projects was touched upon.
