More than six hundred Polish entrepreneurs are currently working in Ukraine. Over 2,000 more have expressed their desire to do so.

Jadwiga Emilewicz, Secretary of State, Government Plenipotentiary for Polish-Ukrainian Development Cooperation, who recently visited Ukraine, announced this in an interview with Ukrainian Radio, Ukrinform reports.

"This last visit to Kyiv is a visit whose success exceeded even my expectations. First of all, I did not expect that so many Polish entrepreneurs would not be afraid to get on buses with us and go to Kyiv. This just shows how close we are. Over 600 Polish entrepreneurs work in Ukraine. More than 2,000 declare their desire to work here, develop in Ukraine, and establish business ties with Ukrainian companies," she said.

At the same time, Emilewicz noted that there are many difficulties related not only to Russia’s war in Ukraine but also to the fact that the two countries have different legal systems. Therefore, according to her, Warsaw and Kyiv agreed to improve the respective legislation of both countries and simplify bureaucratic procedures.

"Often this does not require legislative changes but only some procedural ones. We have seen such readiness on the part of the Ukrainian government," Emilewicz stated.

She expressed hope that by the end of August Warsaw and Kyiv would prepare a roadmap for overcoming mutual barriers to the development of Polish-Ukrainian cooperation.

As reported, about 1,700 Polish companies of various profiles are willing to participate in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
