Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development Oleksandr Kubrakov has met with the representatives of the United Nations, and the United States, Japan, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Slovenia, Ireland, Switzerland, Korea, Belgium, and the Netherlands to discuss Ukraine’s reconstruction.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development Ministry on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Our current focus now is on the launch of eVidnovlennia [eRestoration], a state aid programme for people whose homes suffered minor damage as a result of the Russian aggression; the launch of the Fund for the elimination of the consequences of armed aggression; and the digital reconstruction management system, DREAM. We are grateful to the partners who are planning or already implementing projects to strengthen the capacity of communities, as this is a prerequisite for the success of reconstruction,” Kubrakov told.

In his words, the ministry’s team, together with the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development, is working systematically to ensure transparency and accountability regarding reconstruction, and to prioritise based on collected and verified data.

As part of the meeting, a UN initiative was presented to create a community emergency relief fund. The initiative will focus on five priorities, such as housing; energy infrastructure; social, municipal and critical infrastructure (including transport); demining; and support for the private sector.

According to the World Bank report, nearly 18,000 multi-storey buildings, 135,000 private houses, 3,000 schools and kindergartens, more than 1,500 hospitals were damaged or destroyed, and 200,000 square kilometres of land were mined in Ukraine.
