The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) expects that the amount of international aid may exceed $42 billion this year, which will promote a rise in the country’s foreign exchange reserves to about $35 billion.

The relevant statement was made by NBU Governor Andriy Pyshnyy at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Overall, inflows from international partners could exceed $42 billion this year. The inflows from partners will, among other things, contribute to the growth in international reserves to about $35 billion as of the end of this year,” the Governor of the NBU said.

According to Pyshnyy, this will strengthen the National Bank’s capability to further maintain the exchange rate sustainability and gradually ease foreign currency restrictions.
