China supports extension of Black Sea Grain Initiative

Ukraine and China supported the need for proper implementation and continuation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping discussed the implementation of the Grain from Ukraine program during a phone call, Ukrinform reports citing the website of the Ukrainian President.

It is noted that Zelensky informed the Chinese side about the implementation of the global humanitarian program Grain from Ukraine. During the conversation, the parties expressed joint support for the need to properly implement and continue the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

Zelensky emphasized Ukraine's readiness to remain a guarantor of global food security. He also stressed that Russians block Ukrainian ports, along with export routes.

As Ukrinform reported, on April 26, the President of Ukraine held an hour-long conversation with the leader of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping. In particular, the heads of states discussed topical issues of bilateral relations.
