Chernyshov, IMF mission chief discuss new cooperation program, impact of war on gas sector

Oleksiy Chernyshov, Chairman of the Board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, and Gavin Gray, Chief of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission for Ukraine, discussed the impact of the war on the Ukrainian gas sector and a new program of cooperation.

"Stabilization of the financial situation is one of the key priorities that Naftogaz Group is currently working on. This was emphasized by Oleksiy Chernyshov, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, at an online meeting with Gavin Gray, Chief of the International Monetary Fund mission, today, November 14, 2022,” reads the report issued by the Naftogaz press service.

The impact of the war on the gas sector of Ukraine and a new program of cooperation with the Fund were discussed during the meeting.

"Despite the complexity of the current situation in our country, we must make maximum efforts and use all available tools and opportunities in order to successfully get through the heating season and stabilize the situation in the company," Chernyshov emphasized.

He also added that the consistent and unquestionable support for Ukraine from the International Monetary Fund opens new horizons of cooperation to strengthen Ukraine’s economy.
