Funds from small-scale privatization to be directed to Ukrainian army needs

As part of this year’s small-scale privatization, Ukraine aims to privatize at least 150 small state-owned enterprises.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the received funds will be directed to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Bidding will start from the book value of an asset, and the final price will be determined during the auction. Bread factories and distilleries are among the most promising objects for privatization and they are the first on the list enterprises for privatization.

"The first auctions have already been announced. The list of privatization assets will be supplemented by those enterprises that are currently under ministries," said First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko.

According to her, as of today, more than 3,000 enterprises are in state ownership. 1,800 of them are not engaged in economic activity.
