Donetsk and Luhansk regions should become territories of priority development.

"In August this year, the Government approved the Strategy for Economic Development of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions until 2030. In turn, the Ministry of Reintegration drafted a package of bills to turn Donetsk and Luhansk regions into a territory of priority economic development. Residents of Donbas will get jobs and improved living standards, the state – additional funds to restore Donbas, entrepreneurs and investors – comfortable conditions for doing business," Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk said during a working meeting on the Strategy for Economic Development of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions until 2030 with the participation of MPs and representatives of relevant ministries, Ukrinform reports citing the Ministry of Reintegration.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, proposals and recommendations for the development of these territories are being drafted. "I very much hope that the bills will be registered in the Verkhovna Rada by the end of the year," Vereshchuk said.

As reported, the Strategy for Economic Development of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions is the plan agreed upon with local communities, businesses, and international partners, which will raise funds for the reconstruction of the destroyed Donbas. The strategy envisages the implementation of important initiatives, namely: creation of a Consortium Financing Fund, insurance against military and political risks, training programs, decline in unemployment. The combination of budget funds, international aid, and private investment will enable Donbas to become a successful region.
