Amid the lack of anthracite coal, Slovianska TPP, owned by Donbasenergo, stopped power generation on October 23.

According to NEC Ukrenergo, as of 10:30 Kyiv time, both power units at the TPP, which had been operating in maneuvering mode since 2015, had been put to a halt, Ukrinform reports.

The Ministry of Energy says as of the evening of October 22, anthracite coal reserves at the facility were sufficient to cover 24 hours of operation.

Trypillya, Zmiiv, Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhia, Burshtyn, Vuhlehirsk, and Kurakhiv TPPs all have less than ten-day fuel reserves.

In mid-October, Rinat Akhmetov's DTEK launched emergency coal deliveries to the Slovianska thermal power plant to prevent it from shutting down. Approximately 11,000 tonnes was shipped, which allowed maintaining operations throughout the week.

As reported, part of PJSC Donbasenergo are Slovianska and Starobeshivska TPPs. The latter is located in the territory temporarily beyond the control of the Ukrainian government. The installed capacity at Slovianska TPP stands at 880 MW.
