Ukrinform
The Cabinet of Ministers plans to ensure stable pricing in the Ukrainian electricity market in order to pass through the 2021/2022 heating season smoothly, according to Minister of Energy German Galushchenko.

"To pass through the heating season smoothly, we will ensure stable pricing in the electricity market, which should guarantee economically balanced operation of energy generating enterprises," he said during an hour of questions to Government held in Parliament on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

Galushchenko noted the significant role of a new model of Public Service Obligations (PSO) in ensuring the stabilization of the energy market.

"To date, we have introduced a financial model of PSO, which provides great opportunities, especially for [power] generation by the state, and which has changed the approach to the market itself," the minister said.

Galushchenko also reminded that from October 1, for households consuming up to 250 kWh of electricity per month, the price of electricity was reduced to UAH 1.44 per kilowatt, whereas the market price reached UAH 4 per kilowatt.
