Share of NPLs in Ukraine banks down to 35% - NBU

In the banking sector of Ukraine, the share of non-performing loans (NPLs) as of September 1, 2021, decreased to 35% against 36.3% as of August 1.

That’s according to National Bank’s press service, Ukrinform reports.

"The share of non-performing loans (NPLs) in the banking sector as of September 1 fell to 35% (36.3% as of August 1)," the statement said.

The National Bank added that, since year-start, the decrease in the share of NPLs stood at 6 percentage points and was observed in banks of all groups.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, in March 2021, the National Bank of Ukraine began to publish monthly statistics on the distribution of non-performing loans granted to enterprises in national and foreign currencies, by size of business entity and type of economic activity.

According to the National Bank, the share of non-performing loans in Ukrainian banks decreased from 48.4% (as of January 1, 2020) to 41% (as of January 1, 2021).
