Draft state budget for 2022 projects almost UAH 8 billion for digitalization of economy

In the draft State Budget of Ukraine for 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers suggests allocating almost UAH 8 billion for projects on digitalization of the economy. 

"To digitalize the economy and implement a national program for informatization and introduction of information technology in the provision of administrative services, the expenditures in the amount of about 8 billion UAH are projected," Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said while presenting the draft State Budget of Ukraine for 2022 at the Cabinet’s meeting on September 15, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In particular, UAH 1.7 billion is provided for the preparation for the nationwide census, and UAH 1.2 billion – for the national informatization program. In addition, the Government proposes to allocate UAH 500 million to provide rural areas with access to the Internet, UAH 318 million – to ensure the functioning of Diia application, UAH 300 million – to develop IT education, and UAH 300 million – to accelerate defense and industrial innovations.

As reported, the draft State Budget of Ukraine for 2022 envisages GDP growth of 3.8%, inflation of 6.2%, and the exchange rate of UAH 28.6 per U.S. dollar. The budget deficit will fall to 3.5% next year.
