Energy Ministry: UAH 653M transferred to repay salaries to miners

"On Monday, August 16, the State Treasury, at the initiative of the Ministry of Energy, directed funds in the amount of UAH 653,029,000 to the accounts of coal mining enterprises to repay salaries to miners. Today all funds will be transferred directly to the miners,” the report reads.

It is noted that the funds were transferred in line with the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution, developed by the Ministry of Energy, "On redistribution of some state budget expenditures provided to the Ministry of Energy for 2021”, No.760-r as of July 14, 2021.

As Ukrinform reported, at a meeting on July 21, 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers obliged state-owned coal mining companies to direct at least 80% of the proceeds from the sale of products to pay salaries to its employees.
