Russian gas transit through Ukraine increased by 4% in May

In May 2021, the transit of Russian gas to European countries through the Ukrainian gas transmission system (GTS) amounted to 3.85 billion cubic meters, which is almost 4% more than in April.
This was reported by the press service of Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) LLC.
Last month, the Ukrainian GTS Operator transported 0.344 billion cubic meters of gas to Poland, 2.5 billion cubic meters to Slovakia, 0.803 billion cubic meters to Hungary, and 0.189 billion cubic meters to Moldova.
The volume of gas transported from the EU to Ukraine in May amounted to 8 million cubic meters.
As Ukrinform reported, in January-April 2021, gas transit volumes through the Ukrainian GTS decreased by 10%, to 14.1 billion cubic meters compared to the same period last year.
