Experts forecast moderate decrease of U.S. dollar exchange rate this week

This week the U.S. dollar exchange rate against the hryvnia is expected to decrease moderately, and the cash dollar in banks may be traded at about UAH 27.7/27.9, according to a weekly forecast released by Alpari analytical company.

“This week we expect a modest decrease of the dollar against the hryvnia. The dollar on the interbank market may be traded at about UAH 27.8 in a week, and the cash dollar in banks may be traded at about UAH 27.7/27.9,” reads the report.

Over the past week, the dollar exchange rate against the hryvnia decreased by 0.3-0.4% in all segments of the foreign exchange market.

Since last Monday, the U.S. dollar exchange rate set by the NBU has decreased from UAH 27.98 to UAH 27.90 (-0.3%). According to UkrDealing, over the reporting period, demand/supply of the dollar on the interbank market decreased from UAH 27.98/28.00 to UAH 27.87/27.89 (-0.4%). Average purchase/sale rates of the cash dollar in banks dropped from 27.87/28.06 to 27.79/27.98 (-0.3%) over the past week. At the same time, the spread between average sales and average purchases remained at 0.7%.
