Ukraine’s demand for used cars up 10% in Q1 2021

The share of used cars imported from abroad was four times higher than all cars registered in Ukraine in the reporting period.

In March 2021, 34.8 thousand used cars were purchased in Ukraine, which is up 87% from March 2020 and up 27% from February 2021. Ukrautoprom notes that used cars covered more than 79% of the primary automobile market in Ukraine in March 2021.

In March 2021, the most popular brand among used cars imported from abroad was Volkswagen. Some 5.7 thousand used cars of this brand were registered by Ukrainians last month.

In second place is Ford, with 3.2 thousand used cars registrations in March 2021.

Renault took third place, with 2.9 thousand used car registrations, followed by Skoda (2.8 thousand registrations) and Hyundai (2.4 thousand registrations).

As Ukrinform reported, 353.4 thousand used and 85.5 thousand new cars were registered in Ukraine in 2020.
