Twelve new markets for export of Ukrainian products opened last year
Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection Vladyslava Mahaletska made a corresponding statement during the presentation of the public report on the activities of the Service for 2020.
According to Mahaletska, active efforts were made last year to open 100 new markets on six continents. "We mean both Ukraine's traditional foreign economic partners - the EU, China, the United States, India - as well as the markets Ukrainian exporters are less familiar with - Mexico, Australia, Brazil, Angola, etc.," – the Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection said.
In addition, the Service worked in 2020 to conclude international agreements in the field of sanitary and phytosanitary measures and protection of consumers with Brazil, Algeria, Indonesia, Vietnam, Iran, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Serbia, Lebanon, Greece, Germany, Sweden and Georgia.
The Service prepared for signing and obtained permission from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to sign the Agreement between the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy of the Republic of North Macedonia on cooperation in the field of quarantine and plant protection.
In addition, the cooperation with international partners is ongoing to expand sales in various product lines, including poultry products, big cattle and small cattle, beef and pork, milk and dairy products, honey, apples, blueberries and cherries, peas and beans, onions, wheat flour, fish and fish products, reproductive material.
As noted, the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection plays an important role in the efficiency of Ukrainian exports. Its task is to overcome technical barriers to trade and provide state guarantees for compliance with the requirements of exporting countries.
