Average salary in Ukraine up 15% in January 2021

The average nominal salary of Ukrainians in January 2021 was 15% higher than the one they received in January 2020 and amounted to UAH 12,337, the State Statistics Service has reported.

The average nominal salary of a full-time employee of enterprises, institutions and organizations in January 2021 was UAH 12,337, or 2.1 times higher than the minimum wage (UAH 6,000). Compared to December 2020, the average nominal salary shrank by 13%.

The highest average nominal salary in January 2021 was recorded in the sphere of financial and insurance activities (on average UAH 24,095, up 20% from January 2020), the field of information and telecommunications (21,941 UAH, up 22.3%), and in the field of professional, scientific and technical activities (UAH 16,602, up 12.1%).

The lowest average nominal salary in January 2021 was recorded in the field of temporary accommodation and catering (UAH 6,647, down 10.1% from January 2020), construction (UAH 9,238, up 0.8%), agriculture, forestry and fisheries (UAH 9,565, up 12%).

According to the State Statistics Service, the average nominal salary in January 2020 was UAH 10,727 in Ukraine, or 16.3% more than in January 2019.
