Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Senik has invited Indian business to invest in the Ukrainian economy.

Senik said this during the interagency interactive session of the 26th Partnership Summit, organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Ukrniform reports with reference to the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

The key topics of the summit were the stabilization and recovery of the economy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Senik, IT-industry, agriculture, infrastructure and transport are sectors to which Ukraine, together with international partners, can contribute in order to revive the global economy.

“The large-scale privatization campaign in Ukraine offers great opportunities for foreign investors, and we already have success stories in this direction,” he stressed.

Senik thanked the Indian side for providing Ukraine with humanitarian aid to fight COVID-19.

The Foreign Ministry reported that, according to the State Statistics Service, the total volume of trade in goods and services between Ukraine and the Republic of India amounted to USD 2.9 billion in 2019.

In 2020, trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and India suffered a decline due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For nine months of 2020, the total trade in goods and services between Ukraine and India amounted to USD 1.86 billion.
