Experts predict hryvnia strengthening this week

“This week we expect a moderate decrease in the dollar against the hryvnia. The dollar on the interbank market may be traded at about UAH 28.1 in a week, and the cash dollar in banks may be traded at about UAH 28.1/28.3,” he said.

Over the past week, the dollar exchange rate against the hryvnia decreased by 0.6-0.8% in all segments of the foreign exchange market.

Since last Monday, the U.S. dollar exchange rate set by the NBU has declined from UAH 28.47 to UAH 28.29 (-0.6%). According to UkrDealing, demand/supply of the dollar on the interbank market, during the same period decreased from 28.50/28.51 to 28.26/28.28 (-0.8%).

The average purchase/sale rates of cash dollar in banks over the last week decreased from 28.39/28.60 to 28.23/28.44 (-0.6%). At the same time, the spread between the average sale and the average purchase remained at the level of 0.7%.
