Ukrainian farmers already gathered 47.4M tonnes of grain - Economy Ministry
In particular, Ukrainian farmers gathered 234.7 thousand tonnes of millet from an area of 146 thousand hectares (97% of the forecast); 93.3 thousand tonnes of buckwheat from 73.9 thousand hectares (94%); 10.9 million tonnes of sunflower from 5.5 million hectares (87%); about 2 million tonnes of soybeans from 966 thousand hectares (72%); 11.1 million tonnes of corn from 2.4 million hectares (44%).
Ukrainian farmers also gathered 2.4 million tonnes of sugar beets from an area of 56.6 thousand hectares (26%).
Crops such as millet and buckwheat have been harvested in most regions.
The ministry also informed about the autumn sowing campaign. As of October 19, Ukrainian farmers sowed basic winter crops on 6.2 million hectares (76% of the projected area). Over 1.1 million hectares have been sown with winter crops over the past week. In particular, wheat has been sown on 4.6 million hectares (76% of the forecast); barley - 628.3 thousand hectares (66%); rye - 104.3 thousand hectares (78%); rapeseed - 829.8 thousand hectares (82% of the forecast).
The leaders in terms of sowing rates during the past week were Odesa region (350.6 thousand hectares), Zaporizhzhia region (127 thousand hectares) and Mykolaiv region (126.7 thousand hectares). Poltava region has completed the sowing of winter crops.
