Sugar refineries produced 125 thousand tonnes of products in past month – Ukrtsukor

As of October 6, Ukraine produced 125.3 thousand tonnes of sugar and processed 940.4 thousand tonnes of sugar beet, according to the Ukrtsukor National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine.
The sugar refining season of the 2020/2021 marketing year (MY) in Ukraine officially started on September 5.
As of October 6, the sugar beet processing began at 16 sugar refineries.
According to Ukrtsukor's May forecast, sugar production in the 2020/2021 marketing year is expected to amount to 1.2-1.3 million tonnes, which is 15% less than a year earlier. The number of processing plants remains unchanged. A total of 33 sugar refineries are running during this season.
