Naftogaz not interested in development of thermal power plants - Buslavets
"From my point of view, Naftogaz is not interested in the development of thermal power plants, which could potentially be transferred to it in terms of technology and modernization," Buslavets said at a press conference on Monday, July 27.
According to her, a technical audit of the possibility of modernization should be conducted for each thermal power plant.
"A feasibility study and a technical audit should answer the questions of which thermal power plants are promising and which ones are potential sites with the necessary infrastructure to build a more modern high-maneuver generation there," Buslavets said.
Earlier reports said that the Ukrainian Energy Ministry was considering transferring the authority to manage state corporate rights to thermal power plants from the State Property Fund to Naftogaz. In particular, Naftogaz proposed that the State Property Fund transfer six state-owned thermal power plants to its ownership and management so as to demonstrate the effectiveness of energy-efficient technologies. It is expected that a foreign company may be a partner of Naftogaz in this project.
