Ukraine's international reserves may amount to about USD 30 billion by the end of 2020, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Kyrylo Shevchenko has said.

"Funding from the IMF and other official international partners will help significantly increase Ukraine's international reserves. By the end of this year, they will increase to about USD 30 billion, and in the next years - to USD 32-33 billion," Shevchenko said in a video address on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The IMF support is important in terms of financing budgetary expenditures to overcome the consequences of the pandemic, timely and complete settlements on public debt, maintaining access to international capital markets and the interest of international investors in Ukrainian assets.

As Ukrinform reported, as of July 1, 2020, according to preliminary data, Ukraine's international reserves amounted to USD 28.5 billion (in equivalent). In June, they increased by 12.4%.
