In January-May 2020, almost 1.5 million successful electronic identifications were conducted in the BankID System of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

"In the first five months of 2020, the BankID System of the NBU made almost 1.5 million successful electronic identifications (compared with 300 thousand identifications conducted in 2019),” the NBU press service wrote on Facebook.

The National Bank emphasizes that the interest in the NBU BankID System from the financial market, public sector, business community and citizens is constantly growing.

"Only since the beginning of 2020, 7 banks and 9 non-bank participants, service providers, have joined the system," reads the statement.

Among the most popular services in the system are services in the Diia (Action) mobile app and ordering of administrative certificates.

The system now includes 42 participants: 18 banks (Forward Bank, Pivdennyi Bank, First Ukrainian International Bank, Monobank (Universal Bank), Oschadbank, Kredobank, Radabank, Motor-Bank, Vostok Bank, Idea Bank, Alliance Bank, A-Bank, Alfa-Bank Ukraine, PrivatBank, OTP Bank, Asvio Bank, Accordbank, and Concord Bank) and 24 non-bank institutions (service portals).

As Ukrinform reported, the National Bank launched the BankID project in 2015. The NBU owns the system and regulates the relations between participants of the system. Ukrainian banks, government agencies and commercial enterprise can connect to the NBU BankID system free of charge.
