The first tranche of $2.1 billion under a new Stand-By Arrangement with the IMF will come to Ukraine in the near future, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.
He said this at a meeting with journalists in Chernihiv on Wednesday, June 10, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"The IMF has fully approved our program. The first tranche will come in the coming days - today or tomorrow," Zelensky said.
He recalled that the program is designed for 18 months and its total amount is $5 billion.
At the same time, Zelensky said that Ukraine would also receive financial assistance from the World Bank and the EU.
"I think we can expect more than three billion [U.S. dollars] in the coming month," he added.
