Ukrainians purchase over 7,500 electric vehicles in 2019

“Last year, 7,542 electric vehicles powered solely by an electric motor were registered in Ukraine, including 7,012 passenger cars and 530 commercial vehicles,” reads the report.

Thus, last year, the market of electric passenger cars in Ukraine grew by one third, and the market of  commercial vehicles - by one and a half times.

According to the Association, the most share of all registered electric vehicles were used cars: 92% - passenger cars, 96% - commercial vehicles. Average age of used electric vehicles registered in Ukraine in 2019 was four years for passenger cars and six years for commercial vehicles.

Last year Nissan Leaf was the most popular brand among passenger electric vehicles, 3,217 such cars purchased. Tesla Model S came in second place, with 623 such cars registered. Volkswagen e-Golf took third place, with 360 such cars purchased

Among new electric cars in 2019, the most popular were Jaguar I-Pace cars, 145 buyers purchased them.

Among commercial electric vehicles, the most popular was Renault Kangoo Z.E., with 482 vehicles sold. The second place was taken by Nissan e- NV200, with 29 vehicles registered. The Peugeot Partner Electric model was third, with seven vehicles registered.

As Ukrinform reported, Ukrainians purchased 5,300 electric vehicles in 2018, almost twice as many as a year earlier.
