Ukrainian energy minister Orzhel meets with World Bank delegation

“Minister Oleksiy Orzhel met with a delegation of World Bank’s senior energy officials. The purpose of the delegation's visit was to get acquainted with the new Government and key stakeholders to discuss priority areas in the energy sector as well as the opportunities for potential World Bank support,” the press center of the Energy and Environmental Protection Ministry of Ukraine reports.

As noted, the parties discussed the unbundling of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, the status of the wholesale electricity markets, the development of renewable energy sources, the connection with the European energy system, and the progress of implementation of EITI in Ukraine.

"The World Bank assured of support for the development of a plan on expansion of minimum costs and wholesale market modeling, as well as of further intentions to provide assistance to the Ministry," the Ministry of Energy informed.
