The mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is likely to arrive in Ukraine after the parliamentary elections.

Presidential representative in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Andriy Herus said this to reporters after a government meeting on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The IMF promised to come to Ukraine after the parliamentary elections. We hope it will arrive in August,” he said.

According to him, there are no preliminary agreements on the conditions for granting Ukraine the next tranche.

Earlier in May, IMF Communications Department Director Gerry Rice said that the IMF was ready to resume close cooperation with Ukraine after the elections to the Verkhovna Rada and the appointment of a new government.

As reported, on December 19, 2018, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund approved the Stand-By Arrangement for Ukraine. The amount of the 14-month program is equivalent to SDR 2.8 billion (about USD 3.9 billion). SDR 1 billion (about USD 1.4 billion) was provided immediately, while the remaining funds should be disbursed based on the results of semi-annual arrangement revisions in 2019.
