Gas transit volumes increase by 8% in January-May 2019 – Ukrtransgaz

In January-May 2019, Ukraine increased gas transit by 8 percent compared to the same period of last year, up to 37.6 billion cubic meters, the press service of Ukrtransgaz JSC reports.

"Since the beginning of the year, the volumes of gas transportation through the territory of Ukraine from the Russian Federation to the European countries and Moldova have amounted to 37.6 billion cubic meters. Compared to the same period in 2018, the transit volumes increased by 2.7 billion cubic meters, or by 8%," reads the report.

Moreover, Ukraine has not imported gas from Russia for its own needs for 1,288 days already (the fourth spring). "During this period, gas volumes have been received exclusively from the EU countries," Ukrtransgaz noted.

In January-May 2019, Ukraine imported 4.0 billion cubic meters of gas, which is 19% more than last year.
