Average monthly salary in March exceeds minimum wage 2.5 times

The average nominal wage amounted to UAH 10,237 in Ukraine in March 2019, which is 2.5 times higher than the established minimum wage, the Government portal reported.

"According to the data provided by the State Statistics Service, the growth of real wages (March 2018 – March 2019) amounted to 12.5%. The growth in March as compared with February makes up 7.6%. At the same time, the growth of consumer prices during this period (from March to February) was 0.9%,” reads the report.

It is noted that above-average monthly salaries were recorded in the industry (UAH 11.8 thousand), in the trade sector (UAH 10.6 thousand), in the transport sector (UAH 11.2 thousand), in the information and telecommunications sector (UAH 17.3 thousand), and in the financial sector (UAH 20.4 thousand). The average salary in the education sector in March made up UAH 7.6 thousand, in the healthcare system – UAH 6,750.
