Ukraine actively cooperates with 30 countries in space technology

“Thanks to the daily work of our scientists, designers and manufacturers, Ukraine occupies its rightful place near to the leading world countries having a powerful aerospace engineering complex. Last year, with the participation of Ukraine, Antares (joint project with the United States) and Vega carrier rockets (under the European Space Agency (ESA) program) were successfully launched,” read the Greetings of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov on the occasion of the Day of the Aerospace Industry Workers and the World Aviation and Cosmonautics Day, the press service of the NSDC reports.

As noted, Ukraine has recently signed an agreement with the European Space Agency under the "Copernicus" Earth observation programme to further use the obtained data and space technology to combat the crisis and solve problems in the economic, security, scientific and other spheres of life. Space technologies and information systems are being implemented in the sphere of national security and defense, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine stressed.

Turchynov also stressed that leading defense enterprises are actively involved in the implementation of the domestic missile development program, in particular, the creation of modern missile systems, missiles and their components to enhance the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the creation of the country’s powerful missile shield. Ukrainian military transport aircraft have been recognized among the best in the world, the Secretary noted.
