Poroshenko signs law to reduce deficits of ferrous metal scrap

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed the law amending Section ІI "Concluding and Transitional Provisions" of the law of Ukraine on the introduction of amendments to certain laws on reducing deficits of ferrous metal scrap in the domestic market, according to the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

The law was returned with the president's signature on April 3.

The Verkhovna Rada on February 28 approved the law amending Section ІI "Concluding and Transitional Provisions" of the law of Ukraine on the introduction of amendments to certain laws on reducing deficits of ferrous metal scrap in the domestic market.

In particular, the document foresees a temporary, three-year extension of the effect of the export duty on waste and ferrous metal scrap and an increase in the duty from 42 to 58 euros per tonne.
