State Statistics: Number of private farms decreasing in Ukraine

As of January 1, 2019, the number of private farms in Ukraine decreased by 0.9% from the previous year, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

In particular, at the beginning of 2019, there were 3,996.5 private farms in Ukraine, which is 0.9% less than as of January 1, 2018. As of January 1, 2019, there were 6,132.2 hectares of land in use, which is 0.7% less than last year.

The number of private farms has decreased in most regions of Ukraine, except for Cherkasy region.

As reported, according to the State Statistics Service, as of January 1, 2018, there were 4,031.7 private farms in Ukraine, which is 1.1% less than as of March 1, 2017 and 1.9% less than as of January 1, 2016.

The data provided by the State Statistics Service excluded the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and part of the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
