U.S. Embassy concerned about changes of Naftogaz’s charter

The Embassy of the United States in Ukraine has expressed its concern about changes of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine’s charter.
The embassy wrote this on Twitter on March 22.
“We are closely reviewing the unexpected changes to Naftogaz Ukraine’s charter and are concerned about the potential consequences of these changes,” reads the Twitter post.
As reported, on March 6, 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers approved resolution No.226 that converts Naftogaz from a public to a private joint stock company. Also, the government approved a new charter of Naftogaz, authorizing shareholders to elect and dismiss the chairperson and members of the board without proposals of the supervisory board.
