Government allocates one billion hryvnias for emergency medical service development

The Cabinet of Ministers has envisaged UAH 1 billion in the state budget for the development of emergency medical service in 2019, according to the Government portal.

"The emergency medical service in 2019 will receive UAH 1 billion of budget funds. The modernization of operational-dispatching services is planned in all regions. The project on developing the emergency medical service system starts in Vinnytsia, Donetsk, Odesa, Poltava, Ternopil regions and the city of Kyiv,” the report says.

It is noted that more than 75% of the projected spending will be funded from the state budget and at least 25% - from local budgets.

"The reform provides for updating regulations and standards for emergency medical dispatchers, creating a new IT infrastructure, updating mandatory protocols of emergency medical dispatchers and protocols of emergency medical response teams, purchase of new vehicles, equipment, etc.,” the report says.
