Finance Ministry: UAH 1 bln envisaged in budget for ambulance service system development

The government has envisaged UAH 1 billion in the 2019 state budget for a pilot project on the development of emergency medical service system, the press service of the Finance Ministry has reported.

"As of April 1, 2019, the modernization of operational-dispatching services will start in all regions of Ukraine, and a pilot project on the emergency medical service development will be launched in Vinnytsia, Donetsk, Odesa, Poltava, Ternopil, Odesa regions and the city of Kyiv. UAH 1 billion is envisaged in the 2019 state budget for the pilot project on ambulance service system reform,” the statement says.

It is noted that the Health Ministry has submitted for government consideration a new improved model of ambulance service system. The main innovations include updating regulations and standards for emergency medical dispatchers, creating a new IT infrastructure, updating mandatory protocols of emergency medical dispatchers and protocols of emergency medical response teams, purchase of new vehicles, equipment, etc.
