Dnipropetrovsk region reduced gas consumption by almost a quarter over past 4 years

Energy efficient technologies are actively being implemented in Dnipropetrovsk region, which has resulted in natural gas consumption decrease by 23% or 917.3 million cubic meters over the past four years.

Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Valentyn Reznichenko stated this.

"The transition to alternative types of heating is a guarantee of the state's energy independence. Over the past four years, the region has reduced its gas consumption by almost a quarter, since it is actively implementing energy efficient technologies. More than a hundred alternative boiler houses and dozens of solar power plants are operating throughout Dnipropetrovsk region. Three cities in the region have refused from centralized heating - Pokrov, Nikopol and Marhanets. We focus on energy efficiency during the construction and reconstruction of schools, kindergartens, hospitals. Each facility has modern windows, insulated facades, roofs and foundations,” the head of the regional state administration said.

Reznichenko also added that in 2018, 13 new solar power stations were put into operation in the region. The largest one is located in Nikopol. In general, Dnipropetrovsk region has 38 stations that convert sun energy into electricity.

Also, Dnipropetrovsk region has the highest figures for the installed solar panels across the country, almost 900 private households them.
