Ukraine's state-owned banks see profit of UAH 13.5 bln in 2018

The gross profit of four state-owned banks in Ukraine in 2018 amounted to UAH 13.525 billion, the press service of the Ukrainian Finance Ministry has reported.

According to the report on the activity of each of the four state-owned banks, the profit of state-owned banks reached UAH 13.525 billion as of January 1, 2019. The profit of JSC PrivatBank for 2018 stood at UAH 11.67 billion, JSC Ukrgasbank at UAH 766 million, Ukreximbank at UAH 958 million, and Oschadbank at UAH 132 million.

The net assets of all state-owned banks as of January 1, 2019 reached UAH 744.381 billion, or 55% of the banking system of Ukraine. The net assets of PrivatBank as of January 1, 2019 amounted to UAH 282.037 billion, Ukrgasbank - UAH 82.364 billion, Ukreximbank - UAH 161.732 billion, and Oschadbank - UAH 218.249 billion.

As was reported earlier, solvent banks in Ukraine received UAH 21.7 billion in net profit in 2018. Ukraine's banking system was last profitable in 2013, when its profit amounted to UAH 1.4 billion.
