Statistics service confirmed government forecast for economic growth - Groysman

"The State Statistics Service has confirmed our forecast for economic growth. Ukraine's GDP grew by 3.4% in the fourth quarter of 2018 (compared to the same period in 2017)," he wrote.

Groysman added that last year, Ukraine actively implemented programs for agricultural sector, industry updates, simplified regulation in construction and production, and this yielded results.

"We will continue systemic work this year as well. We will convert new opportunities into the growth of the well-being of citizens. Ukrainians will experience changes in the quality of life," Groysman added.

According to tentative estimates of the National Bank of Ukraine, GDP growth in 2018 amounted to 3.4%, the largest figure over the past seven years.

The central bank predicted that real GDP growth in 2019 will slow to 2.5%, which will be triggered by tight monetary policy. Real economic growth will accelerate to 2.9% in 2020 and to 3.7% in 2021.
