Danish Fund invests EUR 5 mln in solar power plant in Zhytomyr region
This was reported by the press service of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (SAEE).
"The Danish SDG Investment Fund, created in 2018, made its first investment in the Ukrainian project on the installation of a 19.1 MW solar power plant in Zhytomyr region. The volume of investments allocated by the fund is about EUR 5 million, which is almost a third of the project cost (EUR 17 million)," the report says.
The project implemented by Denmark’s Better Energy LLC provides for the installation of 59,000 solar panels, which will generate "clean" electricity, equivalent to the consumption of about 6,500 households.
In 2017, the State Energy Efficiency Agency signed a memorandum of partnership with the Danish Energy Agency. Within the framework of cooperation, the parties developed a mechanism to stimulate industrial enterprises to improve energy efficiency. They also improved the interactive investment map of Ukraine UA MAP, analyzed the possibilities of increasing heat generation “not from gas” in Ukraine, began cooperation with leading Danish companies, including in the field of energy generation from garbage.
