Ukraine received $2.4 bln in foreign direct investments last year

In 2018, net inflows of foreign direct investments in Ukraine amounted to $2.4 billion, more than half of which was sent to the real economy.
"The net inflows of foreign direct investments in Ukraine amounted to $2.4 billion ($2.6 billion in 2017). In particular, more than half of foreign direct investments – 58% or $1.4 billion – was sent to the real sector of the economy," the press service of the NBU reported.
At the same time, investments in the financial sector made 42% of the total amount of investments, almost half of which was used for operations of the banking sector to restructure debt into authorized capital.
Due to the surplus of net liquidity balance and obtaining the IMF loan, Ukraine’s international reserves increased by 10.7% to $20.8 billion.
